Bathroom design mistakes

The last thing we all would want, is to save and save for a bathroom renovation and then be left disappointed due to design faults.

So, before you do any planning, think about these 3 common mistakes people make:-

Squeezing in too much

Many of us have small ensuite or bathroom spaces. So have a think about whether a soaking bath is completely necessary. Also floating vanities create a more open space, leaving space underneath for beautiful, decorative baskets. The less you have in your bathroom and the more mirrors you have in this small space, the less visual chaos there will be.

Valuing beauty over practicality

Intricate tile designs are stunning. Beautiful sweeping porcelain sinks look beautiful in the pictures and glossy magazines. But a lot can be said for "low maintenance". How much time do you really want to spend cleaning your bathroom? The easier you make - it the better, and it can still look a million bucks!

Expensive/faddish fixtures

Using the latest colours for your sink, toilet, shower, tiles etc can be fun! But, they are also expensive. And once you go down that path, you are really restricted with your ability to decorate, as those fixtures dominate.

Rather, use neutral colours for features and add splashes of colour with accessories and towels.
